arizona1 -- they've long anticipated, planned, taking control of the countryside and cutting off cities, rendering them unsurvivable, 'when the time comes' -- a time also anticipated to include the wholesale gunning down/slaughter of folks like us

in 1860, our population stood at 31.4 million ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1860_United_States_Census ) -- 750,000 troops and an unknown number of civilians were lost in the Civil War ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Civil_War ), during which civilians were not generally regarded as legitimate, let alone primary, targets -- so say about one million dead, total, in a little over 4 years

this time, we would start with ten times the population and probably a not very dissimilar split in how folks would line up and where, and with vastly more and more effective firepower in the hands of the rebels -- and the doctrine is different this time, the innovations of the fascist/authoritarian movements and mass warfare of the 20th century and the terrorist movements and asymmetrical warfare of the 20th into the current have been fully incorporated; civilians like us would be primary targets, mass slaughter of civilians like us would be a primary objective -- if the current smolderings were to ignite into that sort of a rebellion (something which is not outside the realm of the possible, all the elements needed are in fact in place and continue to be lovingly nurtured and whipped up, very overt eliminationism running rampant), the million total dead for the 4 years of the Civil War would be fading in the rear-view mirror within the first 4 days

Beck was too far down the road for Fox News but... a question. Do any of you agree with this?

A core assumption is at risk. The problem is that social stability has been built around this assumption -- not on the assumption that everyone is owed a living, but the assumption that on the whole, all benefit from growing productivity and efficiency.
