Crazy Gun CEO Apologizes With Attorney

Chris Tomas
Fri Jan 11, 2013 at 07:39 PM PST

You can't make this crap up. James Yeager, the poster boy of the necessity of gun safety laws, has posted a third video after the Tennessee Department of Homeland Security revoked his carrying handgun permit.

The big badass of man who once announced that he would fire the first shot and start killing people if the government came for his weapons, reacted to the government's first move of taking away his permit by.....saying sorry, I didn't mean it.

Along with his attorney, James Yeager stated that he was angry when he made the video and tried to remove it, but it was too late because it was already was copied on youtube. I guess he must have done that twice and then let's not forget today's interview with a local station.

He continued to state that he does not advocate the overthrow of the government and does not "condone any violent
actions towards any elected officials."

So to recap....

James Yeager: "Don't take my guns or I'm gonna start killing people."

Tennessee DHS: "You are not allowed to carry a concealed weapon"

James Yeager: "wwhwwwwhhhhaaaaaaaaa! Please don't do that to me. I'm sorry. Please let me carry my gun, my baby, the
inanimate object that gives me a warm tingly feeling inside of me."

Don't get me wrong, the guy is completely dangerous in my eyes and the apology was probably after his attorney listed
the potential charges that he may be facing due to his previous video.

Here's the apology:

Edrie had a good point in the comments: notice that both "men" (using the term loosely) kept saying that "NOW"
is not the time - they did not say that is NEVER the time!

8:03 PM PT: Rec List? Thanks everyone! An honor.

Sat Jan 12, 2013 at 6:11 AM PT: I have heard the argument from many gun rights activists, including my wife's uncle, that they (government) wants to take away the guns from "innocent, law-abiding" citizens. It's an argument that the NRA has made. However, every citizen in this country in innocent and law-abiding until they are known to have committed a crime. I am, you all are, my parents are. Adam Lanza was seen as "law-abiding" until December 14, 2012. Timothy McVeigh was seen as "law-abiding" before OKC. All criminals are seen as "law-abiding" in the eyes of others until they are known and caught. When it comes to James Yeager, unless he has ever been convicted of a crime (have't read that he was), he is "law-abiding" in the eyes of society. However, given that he was once worked for a small town of about 500 people and fired by the mayor for wanting to build a SWAT team, we can begin to see his into his mental state, especially after his ranting and raving in the last few weeks.

The NRA themselves have proposed having a mental health data base to make sure that guns don't fall into the hands of the mental illness. Does anyone actually think that Mr Yeager would ever willingly agree to a mental health examination? Does political disagreement mean that someone is mentally ill? Absolutely not. However, I work in a community mental health center and meet with folks with mental illnesses on a daily basis. If one our clients came into the office exhibited delusional thinking and stated that he thought the government was coming for him and, as a result, he was preparing his arsenal of weapons, forming an army, and will fire the first shot if feeling threatened, you're damn right red flags would go off and a welfare check would be requested along with an mental health evaluation for his safety and the safety of others. I had a client once who committed suicide with a gun that he denied he owned when asked at the assessment. When meeting with his mother a few weeks later, she stated, "he really was a responsible gun owner." Anyone else see something wrong with that statement?

Mr Yeager lives in his own world, along with many other gun owners and they are not in the majority. They are in the same group of people who believe President Obama is a Muslim that attended a radical Christian Church. They are in the same group of people that believe "end of life care" means euthanasia because that is what Fox News and Rush Limbaugh told them. They are in the same group of people that believe we have government controlled healthcare even though the card in their wallets say Anthem, Cigna, or Aetna. They cannot be reasoned with. Unfortunately, they are among those who are seen as "law-abiding" until they do something.

It Could Get VERY Ugly in Camden, Tennessee

The Baculum King
Fri Jan 11, 2013 at 08:04 PM PST

By now everybody is familiar with the nutty CEO of Tactical Response of Camden, Tennessee. Or think they are. Camden is coincidentally located about 25 miles north of my home stomping ground (before my unscheduled vacation and relocation), and, while I have never availed myself of TR's range facilities I have been well aware of them for several years.

Camden is a typical small town in West Tennessee, roughly equidistant from Nashville and Memphis, very close to the Tennessee River and just north of Interstate 40. Tactical Response's facilities are anything but typical.

The range complex at TR is extensive, and compares favorably with (or exceeds) the facilities available to any large police department. It is NOT simply a "shooting range" with a series of firing points situated opposite a line of target butts, but includes a wooded terrain range, door-breaching and entry facilities, long-range shooting facilities and driving/shooting courses. Follow across the squiggly thing for more...

Tactical Response (TR) maintains an extensive website here [ http://www.tacticalresponse.com/ ] that includes a listing of all the courses they offer here. [ http://www.tacticalresponse.com/courses.php ] If you look at that list the first thing you'll notice is the scarcity of "Introduction to Handguns for Home Defense"-type offerings. They might do those on request, but it ain't their bread and butter.

Most of the local (and several not-so-local) police and sheriff's departments train there, because the facilities and instructors are better than what they have. Many of these officers consider the staff at TR to be personal friends, and would have severely divided loyalties if a serious move were ordered against them. There would also be a very serious question as to which side was better armed and better trained, with the smart money being on TR.

In the FAQ on the TR website there's this little gem:

Our founder and CEO James Yeager has a 2,000 sq ft “Team Room” in the first floor of his home. It has 12 bunks, couches, tables, wireless internet, bath, fridge, coffee maker, microwave, awesome library and DVD collection and unmatched camaraderie with fellow students. It has a “frat house” like atmosphere that some students love and others hate. This is the private residence of James Yeager and is not owned by Tactical Response. This is just a show of kindness and is only for Tactical Response students (not schools we host at our range).

I don't know how many "hangers-on" there are associated with Tactical Response, but I DO know this area and the people there, and wouldn't be at all surprised if that "frat house" is not currently full.

Tactical Response also used to (and likely still does) offer rentals of Class III weapons (fully automatic), so those are somewhere on the premises.

If push comes to shove in Camden it will NOT be a reprise of Waco. The Branch Davidians were religious nuts and innocent (if badly misguided) children. The bunch at Tactical Response, if they chose to fight, are as well armed and at least as well trained as anybody short of the U.S. Army (and they've trained some of them), so it could get real ugly in a hurry. And they have an unknown number of supporters who might well rally to their aid.

Just so you know, not sure what anybody here could be expected to do with their newfound knowledge.

Also yesterday, Angry Black Lady chimed in ...

Phew. They suspended his gun permit. That settles that. It’s not like there’s any possible way he could have guns or get guns. Not with our airtight gun regulations. Besides, he seems nice, so we can all breathe a sigh of relief.

Gotta love how white dudes can videotape themselves threatening mass murder, then later release a statement that says “I was mad when I said that shit, but I totally meant it,” and end up getting only a slap on the wrist.

Must be nice.

that's not the full post. but she's right, can you just imagine?

That's another one that should not be allowed to buy or own a gun .. but guess what? Maybe you knew this .. but I didn't and I haven't seen it posted ... his little fortress where he lives and makes money "training people" (god forgive him) ..... wasn't licensed correctly either!!!!!!!!!! ... ;) LOLOL.. This is just a snip from a well linked article ~~

Digital Journal reported that Yeager is the CEO of Tactical Response, a company that trains civilians in weapons and tactical skills. News Channel 5 reports that the company has multiple certifications with several different types of weapons. Officials of the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security, however, said that Yeager was not a Department of Safety and Homeland certified instructor nor was his school certified by the department.
