China News: China, EU in 1st roundtable financial talks
China and the EU are holding their first Roundtable talks on financial services and regulation in Shanghai Friday. The two financial groups are led by Zhou Xiaochuan, governor of the People's Bank of China and Alexander Schaub, the Director General of the European Commission.
The two sides brought in key figures from their banking, securities and insurance regulatory commissions to the Roundtable talks.
The meeting aims to let financial policy makers exchange experience on the effective establishment and integration of a capital market in two of the world's largest economic bodies. Schaub will continue his tour with visits to Hangzhou and Beijing.
