OT: GM marty...A lot seem to use Scottrade but also hear a lot of technical glitches during trading day.I am Ameritrade Apex and it gives me a whole boatload of trading tools free..Streamer...Level II...Streaming news...Time&Sales ...Day chart real time...Advanced Analyzer(awesome)...and a few other gioodies I never use.AMTD trades are $10.99 @ way but several I know of have said that they called and pleaded/demanded $8.00 trades and if persistant they get it...Never bothered to myself so I cant prove that.I personally would not use anything else.BTW in all my years with them I never had a serious tech issue except for the one awhile back that they had...always works flawlessly....Simple

I have Fidelity and Scottrade. Fidelity is bad.... especially compared to scottrade. I have no problems with scottrade. The commission is very reasonable unlike Fidelity... they charge me a lot more than scottrade. I do not know about the others. But I have seen a lot of advertisinng on Brown Co.

I use scottrade, java trading interface that is fairly reliable (as far as java goes, sometimes you gotta clear the engine or reboot - but I am sure you are adept at that ;) ) and 500 min. Also as wick stated you can edeposit and have the finds available next day or same day before if you deposit before 10 eastern, they are usually there about 2 hours after the deadline. I assume they run some sort of batch process on the deposits. The caveat is that under $1 they add .5% of the trans value to the $7 fee and you can forget about stops (has to be .15 below price) on the low dollar stuff - also find that limit orders get skipped occasionaly. I had a bid at the ask for sons the other day and couldnt figure out why in the hell it wasnt picked up. All in all, I like it - if I was playing bigger cap issues with less share volume I would use Interactive brokers.

If you have interest in pinks then ameritrade is a good option - scottrade charges you a broker fee to process them (at least they used to, I dont mess with those anymore), they have had some issues within the last month with processing I believe, plus you get about a million free trades.
