Bottom line, this is a sleazy administration and has been from the get-go. Their sleaziness is not (necessarily) in the relam of personal morality, but rather in the realm of public morality. Lying to achieve policy goals, such as lying their butts off to justify a war that the truth could not possibly justify - a war that was decided on before the campaign if one believes a George W biographer who has recounted a conversation that happened before the first presidential campaign.

Well, I seem to remember an investigation that was supposed to determine whether Clintons had done some shady financial stuff, but it ended up with an impeachment trial about purgery during sex scandal testimony.

Funny how things work out.

Watergate, Iran/Contra, Whitewater, Plamegate....... seems we have a rich history of beginning investigations for one thing and ending up with something different.

Would you say that lying about Plame to a special proscecutor and grand jury (and remember Plamegate involves war justifications) is at least as serious as lying under oath about sex?

What is often overlooked by Plame being exposed is that the CIA front with many other agents was blown as well.

The front was used to gather intelligence on loose nukes ?!!#@

Maybe, just maybe .... Plame nor Wilson was the primary target but rather it was away of sending a message to the CIA field operatives and effectively derailing the operation. Fall in line with the new administrations policy or suffer the consequences. Since all of this is classified we don't know what the scope or damage has been caused to our covert intelligence by this leak. The safety of the free world may have been or is compromised. A special prosecuter from the Republican party would not be looking into this matter if it wasn't important.

So clinton got a blow job in the White House and Bush and/or company blew a covert intelligence operation looking for info on loose nukes.

Gee, what would be more important to the national interest ?
