In cases where someone is charged, the large percentage of the accused are guilty of something , that is why they are charged in the first place. So the court systems around our country are geared towards making a deal with defendants rather than take each case to trial , this streamlines what is called by many the revolving door for career criminals . But too it allows prosecutors to focus more on the few cases that do not end in an agreed deal and better prepare those cases for trial .. If every defendant said I demand a trial , our courts would be in big trouble...
