Hitler remains an enigma to me in so many ways. Seriously.
I don't understand the Hitler phenomenon on any level... I don't understand a society that allowed evil to lead - or a world in which such atrocities could occur. The dynamics of all of that escapes me. Maybe it is unfathomable to all of us, but I certainly don't "get it"..... Yet, we have a similar situation occurring right now in Africa. And we have a theo-political Islamic movement that would like to see us all dead. I really wish I could "conceptualize", or maybe not.....
Maybe this is the "America thing" that Kahane was referring to when he criticised the American mindset that tended to see people as good, or as sharing our values.... I don't know.....
