allyboys1, you bring up some good points. However, by understanding from being in court is that there are 154 lbs of amethysts, quarts crystals and emeralds. Jay has already stated in the newspaper that the 4 boxes of emeralds that he hid from the New York investors were worthless. Do I think there are some valuable emeralds?? Yes, I do. From what I heard, were all of the emeralds brought to Court ? No.
Steve and Jay may have a creditability problem with the Court after first testifying that they didn't know of anyone that placed any enhancement on the emeralds and then Steve recanting his previous testimony and stating that he put paint thinnr on the emeralds and then Jay testifying that he didn't know of anyone put any enhancement on the emeralds and then coming back on the witness stand after lunch and saying that his brother Greg in Pennsylvania enhanced 2 bags of emeralds.
As far as Silverstein??? Good question. Both Steve and Jay testified under oath that they had not seen any or were verbally told a value of the emeralds by their many experts that examined them. Doesn't that sound strange to anyone else???
As a person, I find it extremely strange that Jay testified that he bought a treasure map from a handy man and that there were no GPS numbers to go with the map. Jay stated that he told the map and matched it up to all the many nautical charts of the Florida Keys and that is how he found the site. I don't know anyone with any experience that would spend $500 for a map and didn't know how to find the site with GPS or Lat, Long. Strange, very Strange.
And then Jay testifies that he didn't have any way to contact the handyman,
I take it that $500 was the only agreed upon price for the deal, but yet the handyman just happens to call Jay a few months later and Jay has $50,000 for a semi homeless man. I find that strange too.
I also find it amazing that now you tell me the Map seller Mike Cunningham is going to be in court on Dec 21st. Simply amazing after Jay testified on the witness stand that he and his attorneys tried to find Mike for the Trial and couldn't locate him. Now all of a sudden he appears, Amazing. I think the Judge will think so too.
Just my personal opinion
