I was amused with the German reference, if I remember my history Germany was involved with a World War at the time, and almost everything in the country was geared toward supplying the military, and Hitler's belief that the German people were superior to everyone in the world.
Describing the 30s, and then the Autobahn was equally amusing, especially when you try to compare that life to our current one. If I remember correctly America was busy going through its only problems, and it was called the Great Depression.
Like any civilization, it goes through stages, fortunately for America, and most of the rest of the world, we have mostly all advanced in the quality of life.
Then its your thoughts about government, the American form of government has worked very well for over two centuries, it has allowed most americans the ability to advance, by trying to keep things fair for most. Unfortunately the rich and powerful know how to take advantage of the system, through there coziness with politicians to change the rules. This advanatge of the rich, have allowed the truly wealthy of this country to exploit the wealthj of the country for there own benefit.
The American style of government was suppose to try and keep the rules level for all current americans, and all of those future americans that have not arrived.
Many American Presidents, both Republican, and Democratic have tried to keep the rich, wealthy and powerful in check, by dismantling monopolies that they created. Again you believe that the government is the problem, and others believe that the rich and the corporations they control are the problem.
Another topic of discussion, is how well Germany has performed over these past few decades, a strong economy, but it is being accomplishment by governement spending, high taxes, strong unions, and an emphasis on education for every German. So do you still say that Germany is wrong in there way of governing, it seems to be working.
