FFGO - Agreed! 500MM short sold in one day was never covered in that reporting period. There was no possible way for it to be covered!

So FINRA should have reported a short interest as claimed for periods with non-zero numbers.

Screen shots of the FINRA numbers post August 2010, through early 2011, appear to be problematic for the shorts.
