Blackberries grow wild on the West Coast where we used to live. August is prime berry month and we have seen lots of people pick bucket fulls of blackberries.
The best way to pick? Grab an extension ladder and lean iit against the bushes. Since 99% of people pick only what they can reach, all the berries above that are still there, lol. Seen many people do this.
Gotta wear old jeans and a long sleeved shirt though :)
