re:It's amazing to me that in light of things falling off a cliff for Intel, that they have said nothing and are doing nothing in advertising. Where is the huge Win8 campaign they said they would have?

Its embarrassing really. For the past year, Intel management has been touting the Win8 launch as a game-changer, & this is what we get?? Worse yet, this is happening during Q4 Holiday season. The 1st 3-6 months of any launch are critical, & not a word from Intel. Again, the sooner there are top management changes at Intel, the better. These guys have no clue.

Are you telling me you haven't seen the advertisements? They're all over the place. HP, Dell, Microsoft, Best Buy, and others are all talking up Windows 8, and in the majority of cases you see Ultrabook convertibles in the ads. People see this, go into the stores, and walk out with an Intel based PC.

There are some designs that haven't launched yet, as well. Lenovo, HP, and Dell Clover Trail designs still state "December" for launch. Pity they couldn't have been ready sooner, but the Acer and Samsung designs are shipping, and seem to be getting great reviews.

Do they see enough doom and gloom that they are now holding back their campaign to save money?

well.....it's not like they have the $26+ BILLION in cash as does QCOM.
