Not only is He not required to do so, man is absolutely not capable of understanding the mind of God. That is one of the main points of the book of Job.
However when He does choose to tell us some things about Himself and His desires for us in our daily lives including how He wants us to live, the wise man wants to learn all that God makes available to us and to obey His revealed will for us. It is the fool that chooses to scoff and mock God, choosing his own wisdom and desires over those of his Creator.
