Because there is actually no drug or proven quality product in it. Someone here will tell you it's because it's made naturally, but the reality is, none of those products have been proven to do anything. Some actually can be harmful. I posted a link yesterday describing what's in many of them.

Of course, an herbal drink doesnot have to see
evaluation by the FDA. This is not medicine!

There is no need for warnings neither, ie ...."Consumption of alcoholic beverages impairs your ability to drive a car, or operate machinary, and may cause health problems"....

I often see the following on labels, “These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration.This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.” Why is this product not evaluated by the Government?

Under the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994 (DSHEA), this disclaimer must be displayed on the product label because current laws do not require the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to evaluate the efficacy of specific dietary supplements.
