True Religion Apparel Boosts Third-Quarter Forecast, Backs Fourth-Quarter Target
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Clothing maker True Religion Apparel Inc. on Tuesday said its third-quarter profit will be greater than earlier estimates because of strength in both its domestic and overseas markets.

Third-quarter income is now expected to be 29 cents to 30 cents per share, with sales coming in around $35 million. The company previously forecast profit of 22 cents to 24 cents per share and sales of $29 million to $30 million.
The company added that it remains comfortable with a fourth-quarter target of 20 cents per share on revenue of about $24.3 million.
"Demand for the True Religion brand in the third quarter remain exceptionally strong in both our domestic and international markets," said Jeff Lubell, president and chief executive officer. "Our business with upscale department stores was better than expected as our retail customers prepared for the holiday season and our international business continued to gain sales momentum throughout the quarter."
On average, analysts surveyed by Thomson Financial were looking for third-quarter income of 25 cents per share and $30.3 million in sales. For the fourth quarter, profit is expected to be 20 cents per share on $24.3 million in sales.
True Religion posted income of 5 cents per share and $7.4 million in sales in last year's third quarter, and 12 cents per share on sales of about $14 million in the fourth quarter.
