I'd prefer to call it a quest for understanding as opposed to a quest for truth. Everyone's god is different. Your god is different than my god and jar's god. No one's god can be the same as each person comes from a different interpretation and perspective. To say your god is the only god is the height of arrogance and stupidity, IMO. I may think god is an unloving or uncaring god. You may think the opposite. Someone else may not believe in god. Faith is particular to the individual. The organization of people's beliefs of faith is a business.
