No fair, you used a calculator.

Maybe somebody else should use one. OK, take out your calculator, you know who you are, press the number 3 (your gain) and divide that by 6 (your starting point). Your answer is the percentage gain. Tell everyone your answer. Good job!

If i invest $2000 at .06 and it becomes $3000 dollars at .09 I have gained $1000. $1000 is 50% of my original investment. A 50% gain.
