Emulex shrs bargain on valuation, mkt share-Barron's

NEW YORK, March 2 (Reuters) - Shares in data storage company Emulex (NYSE:ELX - News) appears attractive thanks to its dominance in the crucial, fast-growing market for data-storage networking and bargain share price, weekly publication Barron's reported.
Emulex, whose shares have dropped in the last few months, now trades at 22 times fiscal 2003 expected earnings and is selling roughly on par with its long term annual earnings growth rate of 21 percent, Barron's said.

Though a spending slump in the tech industry could spread to the storage industry, the company has some new products that are paying off now and its balance sheet should help cushion the company from potential disappointments in the future, Barron's said.
