ABT—I would think the people who compile such Dividend Aristocrat lists would make an exception for a year in which a company spins off a substantial portion of its business. If they don’t, they should.

Combined ABT/ABBV dividend will increase from $2.04 in 2012 to $2.12 in 2013: $1.60 for the new ABT, and $0.56 for ABBV.
