I cannot comment on the bike's appearance. Everyone sees things differently. What I find attractive is a machine that is well designed, well made using great materials, and well maintained since new. Internet photos struggle to convey this information.
Generally, Honda makes good machines. I owned a CB350 (a great girl's bike) and was happy with it. I was permitted to take a Gold Wing for a spin when they first became available and I fell in love with vibration free riding. Smooth and quiet had plenty of appeal for me as well. And I looked at the shaft drive, I saw clothes staying clean.
But my heart races for a sport bike. Something that'll break every speed limit in North America in first gear. Breaks that make Polish wheelies seem normal. (I can feel the pegs scraping the pavement as I type.) And handling! Don't forget the sound as the engine spins to five figures. Light weight (I'm 120 pounds) and components made of CNC machined exotic materials. Sticky tyres. Loud graphics. Wrist and shoulder killing handlebars.
Sorry for the digression.
Yes, by all means, follow your heart. The years will pass quickly enough, and you'll regret what you didn't do more than what you did. Don't find yourself sitting at a stoplight, staring at another guy's bike, and saying to yourself, "I wish I'd bought that Valkyrie back in 2003."
Cheers, PW.
