It's certainly thrown around this message board as part of a strategy. And it has worked brilliantly.

Scott overestimated the intelligence of many here. I'm sure he mentioned Sept 30th assuming most would be smart enough to realize the deal would be announced shortly thereafter -- not that precise day or during the holidays right after. He neglected to remember most people nowadays have zero patience, an enormous sense of entitlement, and staggering greed.



You can not blame investors for expecting a company to follow the expectations they develop. What ever verbiage is used to explain a date does not matter. Applying a date is setting an expectation, and that should be understood by all public companies.

Anyone having worked at an executive level for any publicly traded companies would understand this notion. You under promise and over deliver. Any project with a date attached is considered firm once announced. If they date need's to be re-worked then that is made known to the investors prior to that date being missed.
