Potential competition for ABT/Reata’s Bardoxolone

Not in my book. Sodium restriction (which is what this sounds like in effect) is a mixed blessing for the kidney - it does decrease hypertension in some patients, but also can decrease GFR and activate the angiotensin system.

Bardoxolone methyl ph3 trial in CKD for T2D just finished recruitment, result expected mid year 2013.
