NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Matrix Service Co., the Tulsa, Okla., provider of services to the petroleum, petrochemical and industrial-gas industries, swung to a first-quarter profit on 28% higher revenue. For the quarter ended Aug. 31, Matrix earned $400,000, or two cents a share, against a net loss of $900,000, or 5 cents, in the year-earlier period. Revenue reached $109 million from $84.9 million. Gross-profit margins widened to 9.3% from 7.9%. Matrix said it expects to refinance its senior credit line during the current quarter. Matrix shares fell 26 cents, or 3.2%, Wednesday to $7.88.
