Whatever is going on here, terms like 'scumbag CEO' seem a little over-the-top. I can't buy that this was simply a conspiracy to defraud anyone. There was, no doubt, a serious over-sight. Nobody is pleased, unless they happen to be short on this stock. But the 'scam' theory is applied at every turn in the pinks and is getting boring. Plus, in this case, seeing this as a blatant scam is much too glib for intelligent analysis.

This has been a sad, deeply sad experience. I have definitely lost a lot of sleep and am depressed by the ways this might play out. My investment here represents what for me is a lot of money. However, this is still the USA and in America, one is still innocent until proven guilty. We can be angry and stamp our feet and shake out fists in the air- not really knowing who to blame- but such actions only make us look like mindless emotional zealots but does not win us respect from our peers.

Things of this nature are rarely so simple and I feel the GTGP story, with so many levels and players and the suspicious timing of the whole bust, warrants more patience and inquisitiveness. We are all free to harbour our suspicions, but the truth is less likely to be in the extremes and more likely to be somewhere in the middle.

I expect a lot of people to sell as soon as they can, while others, like me will probably hold. I trust it will take time to rebuild faith and clear the air, but it would be my hope that decency might prevail.

I am sure I am not alone in holding on with cautious optimism to learn that a course for recovery has been charted and that the SEC will be satisfied without GTGP being utterly obliterated, and what will emerge will be healthier for the experience.

There is still the urgent issue of how to remove mercury from the nation's air and GTGP may still hold one of the answers. To kill that effort over a technicality (I know... hardly a technicality- save me the vitriol!) would be a tragic misuse of policy. Not that it won't happen... but sad.
