"Shining tree ni was to be out "within the next week." I assume that means we get to read it by this friday? "
That could happen... but, typically, a new NI report being reported "out"... means "completed by the author and released to the company" and not "published on SEDAR, by the company"...
When it's "out"... it might still take days to a few weeks before it gets made public... particularly if there are some surprises in it that make it more than an routine update of things which we already know.
It's coming... we'll get it... after they do... and it's still not at all unusual to see delays occur... that slip the dates when they'll be getting it... just because geologists aren't any better than lawyers or anyone else in estimating how long it will actually take them to write reports... that meet all the requirements for the way in which they want them to be written.
I'd rather have them get it right... than get it fast.
Similar issue as the expectation, announced by the company, that China's government might act by the end of the month... to give their approval to the deal that has been signed.
Even if that approval was granted yesterday or before... its still unlikely that we'd get the news about it before Tuesday, next week. It's more likely to be later, given the Chinese likely won't be putting news about it out before Sunday. That's also not "a SRSR thing"... They're far more likely to release news in an event announcing a lot of different things that were all being approved at the same time... just because... that's how they tend to do things. They have a significantly more formal approach to those sorts of things than we do.
Management will get it first, then, maybe the lawyers will get a crack at it, first, etc. And, then, it may take two or three days to gin up the PR, another two or three for the SEDAR folks to post it... maybe a bit less lag with the commercial PR outfits...
And, none of that is unique to SRSR...
It is unique to SRSR... because of the DD monsters here... that we might see news coming out of some event that was gleened from Chinese websites... before the news gets out through other channels... but, right now, I have no idea who will likely be making announcements, at what events, where, or when ?
The only other thing I see that is unique to SRSR... again a function of "some investors", and not anything else... is the persistent effort made in trying to generate obviously false expectations about the probable timing of events that may be being announced, while trying to convert those false expectations into false "deadlines"... which boils down to traders hoping to succeed in manipulating others... by lying.
Otherwise, a couple days to a week or two in delays after events occur, before news of them is public... is pretty routine... and not unique to SRSR. If there are "material events"... you can expect to be told within the time limits required for them.
I think SRSR will have a good October/November/December... maybe an even better March/April/May... and a better 2013 than 2012.
That's not going to be determined by what I hear tomorrow... instead of next week...
