Now that I agree on. Here's something else I agree on.

Hear me out and I'll assume you'll agree too.

Back in the 80's gas was .85 cents a gallon. Few years later gas shot up to $1.50.. Economy dropped because nobody was buying anything. After a little while gas dropped back to .90 cents. Look what we're paying now as a country! OVER $2 a gallon!! Point is, it was a short term "euphoria" and gas eventually dropped... BUT... if you want to look at history as a statistic then the $3.50 a gallon spike we just had will be the norm to pay for in our near future.

That would mean a barrel would be over $60.
