The majority of 'bluechips' started off that way. They didn't just 'become' one. They already were one.

Most bluechips were already very established large companies that decided to go public. Hence, upon going public, they were almost automatically 'bluechip'. The few of the companies that did 'become' 'bluechips' were already well established smallcaps that hit the bigtime.

Only to keep the glee in check, KMAG will never be a 'bluechip', in the NYSE sense. That doesn't mean KMAG can't/won't be a 'bluechip' of other sorts.

Hell, technically speaking, KMAG is already a 'bluechip'...of the pinkies, being debt-free and cash flow positive.

Keeping things in perspective goes a long way in correctly evaluating potentials.

That would be hard to research if they changed their ticker because of buyouts,mergers,uplistings,etc...Some go private and then come back on bigboards under new name...
