That would mean that the record date wasn't really a record date then. I've held normal BB stocks that I sold after a dividend record date not sold because of the dividend, yet still received the dividend on the pay date like normal. Selling after the record date makes no difference. That's the whole point of a record and pay date. Just need to be a shareholder of record on the record date, then, you receive the payout on the pay date, whether you have the original position or not.
