You can't divide by zero.......but you can divide by .00001 and get an idea of the result you're trying to get........Bottom Line is the Breakout Boards script is broken.........because it MISSES boards that get super active if they haven't had any posts in awhile.........You need another algorithm to calculate when a cold board gets hot.
The existing algorithm works if there's been posts in the last 7 days apparently.
If there haven't, here's a suggested flow:
1. Find the first post of the day.
2. Look at the date of the previous post.
3. If the date on that post is less than 7 days from today, assign a value of 1 to the number of posts in the last 7 days.
4. Calculate as normal
In short, if there have been zero posts in the last 7 days before today, assume that there has been 1 post, and calculate as you normally would.
That's better than having a stock board go nuts, and nobody on IHub being aware of it until the next day I guess......z
