Pretty much the same thing happening now. With a bunch of folks who think that shorting facebook is a safe as putting your money in a savings account.
You have misinformed people who think allowing shares to trades equals dilution. And you have others who think that freely available information (that shares are going to be available to trade) somehow makes them stock experts able to predict stock direction.
Today was a perfect example of buy the rumor, sell the news, or in this case short the rumor buy the news.
