When it comes down to the minutiae, it is hard for me also and the situations you describe are in that category, for sure.
In general, only gross negligence is held to be culpable under our laws, and that would apply for these cases also, in my opinion. Ultimately, only God knows where our heart is when we do something like that, and He is judge of all.
