F6 .. would you interpret the two images for me (hope for at least one other too, lol)
please .. i don't understand the relative lack of red in the 2nd 'SST Anomalies'
one, unless it just means SSTs are close to the usual for this time of year.





if you could repeat them again with a real simple explanation beneath, it would be great .. tia

Radar Intensity Colors on a Weather Map

Radar Echo Intensity shows the amount of precipitation in an area by assigned a
series of colors to indicate heavy or light precipitation including hail, rain, and snow.

NOAA National Weather Service
Radar intensity is a way to "see" through rain. A pulse of energy is beamed through a cloud and the
amount of echo returned will give the intensity of precipitation. The echo is actually a reflection
of the energy and a computer will generate a color code to indicate the amount of precipitation.

The DBZ on the Image is Decibels
When the radar echo reaches the precipitation, the larger the raindrops, or the more
raindrops there are, the greater the DBZ value and the heavier the precipitation.

Forecasts Call for Weak-to-Nonexistent El Nino This Winter

Sea surface temperature departures from average as of October 4, 2012. There is an area of warmer than average water in the eastern equatorial Pacific, but it is not warm enough to be classified as El Niño conditions.
