I have been preaching "watch the Chinese, they are not
being honest" for several months. I post remarks like that
frequently in comments sections of Seeking Alpha, Motley
Fool, and on several iHub boards. I believe wall street does
not have a clue as to what is in store for the market when
the inventory already outside China gets used up. Also there
is a considerable amount of smuggling going on, which the
Chinese are trying to stop. If they are successful, it will
accelerate the rate at which stockpiles get depleted. The
root cause of all this activity is not only orders for millions
of devices such as the iPhone 5 and many different tablets
for export, which is vital to their economy. It is also based
on the unprecedented demand for those same devices for
their domestic consumption. And that competes with the
amount they need in the course of modernization of their
armed forces, and their critical need for electrification, of
which magnets are a critical component.
