mlsoft, I think you are contradicting yourself...

In earlier posts you said the Word is perfect, and it meant to be taken literally. There's no need or room for interpretation. We can not pick and choose what we believe. You said you either accept the Word, or you don't. Truth or hoax - or something to that effect....

You go on to to use the "literal", "perfect" interpretation to justify your stand on "eternal salvation", and social issues, such as homosexuality. Which is all well and good. You are certainly free to believe whatever you like...

But it becomes confusing because when questioned about your own lifestyle (and I believe no one has a right to question you, BTW) you seem to apply selective interpretation. For example: Leviticus, altho in the Bible, is null and void - inferring selective interpretation... (picking and choosing!)On the issues of gambling, vanity and pride your interpretation and conduct also appears selective (picking and choosing) - which is again - your right...

But you do seem to apply selective interpretation when it suits you... Because you either believe or you don't the Bible is either true or it isn't - or whatever you said... How do you pick and choose in some areas and say the Word is literal in others.... How do you use the Bible to say homosexuality is wrong, but you are unwilling to apply the same standard to your own lifestyle...

Personally, I hope the world does not begin to apply a strict interpretation, because I think we'd all be in a whole heck of alot of trouble if that were to happen.... And I think the Bible is written the way it is too allow for the exercise of moral conscience and freewill - which determine righteousness... But that is just mvho....

And FWIW, I have no doubt you, or anyone else, could use the Bible to justify whatever position is desired.....
