Pinchers can whipsaw, sometimes they can whipsaw 2 or three times before the trend is reversed. As far as reliablity, I find they are very reliable, as long you understand that the whipsaws are often a normal part of the process. I personally watch the EMA(8) as the level that the price needs to break and hold to avoid a whipsaw, but I know there are numerous strategies.
