I think they were wrong to demonstrate at the boy's funeral, assuming they did so. Homosexual behavior is wrong and a sin before God, but at that point it was between the boy and God, and common decency demanded that no demonstrations should be held at his funeral.

I did not see the ads, so cannot comment.
