someone at some time had to clear all those shares trading - and they are the ones who will ultimately be scrutinized by the SEC and DTC.
Exactly. Someone created the fake certs, and a TA would have been needed to get them into the market. My guess is that an MM was complicit in all this, or was at least willing to look the other way.
