That is correct. If you want it to be a more legal document you get a Power of Attorney. They can be written up for a specific reason and a specific time frame. Most attorneys know this and it is easy to do. Too bad the person who forged the signatures did not do such since it is a court document.

In that case you sign the person's name and underneath you sign your name/POA.
