My first year trading was 2000 and I was basically wiped out of the market. I bought AMD and took a loss and then was margined in Gateway Computers (GTW) when it took a a very rapid drop. I had all my money in AMD and then all of it in GTW. I didn't trade again until late in 2001 when I converted my 401k to a tradeable account.
2002 I did swing trading the whole year to eek out gains of 35% in a very bad year for the market. My style changes each year, but I attribute my huge gains this year to joining this board spending more time researching and less time screening.
I wasn't saying I am doing 200% a year. Just that I think it is possible.
