The Nasdaq started the year at 2150, about where it is now. This has not been a year of "buy anything". What is working to our advantage is our foresight of the rising of commodity prices, especially oil. That may not be repeatable. However, I plan to trade a million dollars the same way I do a couple hundred thousand. I don't see why when you have a plan that is working (few stocks, heavily researched to reduce risk), that you change it just because you have a bigger portfolio.
I could have easily bought WAY more of my big winners this year. VPHM especially. I believe the people on this board who bought WHAIE may not have researched it enough. Who is to say? I have two major positions I haven't researched thoroughly, CFK and EPEY, so I have no room to talk.
