Hydromorphone Analgesic Equivalency published by Mallinckrodt Exalgo

http://www.exalgo.com/hcp/exalgo-dosing-conversion.aspx

The FDA knows that the addicts will switch drugs to get the more easily defeated drug. That is why IMO the FDA will fast track Elite's ELI-216 NDA 505b2 approval for several different opioid agonists.

Hydromorphone is 2.5x more analgesic equivalent than Oxycodone and 5.0x more than Morphine its API precursor.

Are you saying that Elite's abuse-proof drugs are less addictive than Purdue's Oxycontin? OR will Elite's abuse-proof drugs be equally addictive but just not possible to get high from?

Because, if equally addictive, then my point is that the ones who can't succeed at getting their high via prescription meds will simply turn to heroin. So what good will abuse-proof prescription meds do???

It also appears from what i've read that the govt wasn't really prepared for this level of people simply switching to heroin, etc.
Like, the govt (in all those bills wrt abuse-resistant drugs) actually believed that removing the ability to get high off prescription meds would stop the epidemic. Well sure it would stop the epidemic from that particular source, but simply move it to another source...
