There are a lot of unreliable groups out there with a megalomaniacal objective to "purify" the world. There are also business interests willing to lie to preserve their revenues. Some scientists, publicists, and politicians are willing to accept pay to help either side.
We are surrounded by paid liars on all sides. But, that's not all.
There are also good thinkers with high integrity. Some among them have understood the importance of the ratio of omega-6 and omega-3 in diet. Omega-6 generates pro-inflammatory molecules; omega-3 generates anti-inflammatory molecules. The ratio makes a difference.
One hundred years ago or so the ratio in a typical diet was 2 to 1 of sixes to threes, or even 1 to 1. Today the ratio has moved to something like 20 to 1 in the diets of those who pay no attention. The result is a plague of inflammatory diseases. It has been like attacking the human metabolism with sledge hammers.
What does this have to do with LBSR? If it happens that the number of wild salmon is reduced by mining (and I'm not at all sure that will be the case) farmed salmon is not a good response --- unless the farming is changed so as to produce salmon with a good ratio of fats.
If proponents of mining show that they don't care about science it will not help get the mines approved. One way to show ignorance, harmful to our cause, is to ridicule people who talk about the fat balance in farmed versus wild salmon. It happens that they are right about this even though they may be wrong about almost everything else.
We have to face the fact that even an unscrupulous enemy of mining may say something true.
We are more likely to win the battle to permit NAK and LBSR if we earn trust by showing a careful regard for truth even when spoken by our opponents.
