I'd want to to be more specific about what you mean by "flitered", Matt. The way zeuspaul was describing it, the filtering option would be multifaceted on the part of the COB and visible to readers. Is this what you're considering?

Sounds logical to me......speaking for one board (HRCT) it may in fact be a way to calm some of the critics. EZ :)

Matt

There is no perfect world on "any" Investor forum. Your COB from the stand point of a seasoned Chairman is as close as it comes.

Hi, Matt ... LOL. In a perfect world, we'd all be rich.

In the imperfect world in which we all operate as human beings, you ain't ever going to make this board of yours work as long as it's dedicated to investing ...

Money is at stake.

I just learned that you are 18 years old.

No offense, but ... you got a lot to learn about human nature, dude.

Limiting 'discussion' to stocks only will doom this whole endeavor.

Already, even those who first appeared here attempt to control it.

Thru you.

Adding layers of censorship will only serve to drive people away.

Just my two cents ... and be very careful who you listen to 'developing' your TOS and censors.

I also think that the filter idea is great... when I first read it, I have a feeling that it might be the one that are missing in the COB. The holy grail that we've been trying to find for a year.

IMHO, the Chairman should be able to mark the post that is going to be deleted. Readers will have an awareness of the marked post as well as the person who posts it. Bob will delete the obvious bad post instantly. Giving a longer time, the readers should know if the Chairman is doing the right thing or not, and choose to turn the filter on (trust the Chairman). New posters will learn that eventually, so if the Chairman is not doing a good job, readers can turn the filter off or boot the Chairman. The difference between the ignore function and the filter... you won't filter all posts from a single poster, since he/she might have something good to be contributed. In addition, I hate to see the line "YOU'RE ON IGNORE" again... ggg

Giving a longer time, iHub should have enough quality chairmen (I think it should be changed to Chairperson of the Board Concept)... at the same time, quality of the threads and posters should increase as well. A true win-win situation, everyone learns.

This is my thought for now....
