I don't think that Intc will buy Rambus.
No need to since thy are still accruing all IP rights into 2006.
Intc had trouble getting the RDRAM because of the DRAMURAI fears of domination. Buying Rambus does not help them!

INTEL may need to put RMBS back on their roadmap to keep up with AMD.

If INTC wanted to fix this DRAM problem they could buy one of the Dramurai then it would not matter if they bought Rambus.
INTC has avoided doing this.

Samsung has a lot of reasons to buy RAMBUS.
It was disadvantage their rivals.
It would allow them to compete with Intel.
In fact, it will put them in a more favorable position than
INTC since they will have earlier access to the nrew technologies.

If Samsung buys RAMBUS it will be the end of the anti-trust lawsuit. The patent lawsuits however will continue.

The Japanese companies are also a wildcard. They might want to buy Rambus for reasons similar to Samsung.
