Willard, my name is jenna, and i would pay more than that for the privilege of having a site where I can post my ideas with or without ads. Believe me we can afford to pay.
The issue is simply that we all want an area free of scum, hostility and personal agenda, and that is why this forum was started. If we are allowed to post ads, I would expect to PAY for that privilege. We don't need to mooch free ads from anyone.
The only voices that criticize this good forum are those that will lose their soap box to freely attack, harass simply because that's really all they ever wanted from SI. They were against moderated forums, yet they were the FIRST to moderate their own forums, they would attack but take umbrage and show incredibly thin skins when it boomeranged back into their face.
I've run a very successful thread on SI for 4 years, and the only thing that brought us to leave, and probably will bring down the forum itself was letting go the people that were the very 'soul' of SI, and he has come here, it was also the uneven-handed policies and an incredible laxness of keeping their subscribers free from scam and scum. They could not stand to those demands.
Thread heads left en masse, and there are still a few that are contemplating leaving. So don't begin to make demands on the admin here, no one is putting them against the wall, save the very same tiny minority that will obviously LOSE with the new policies on IHUB. The whole point is we don't NEED to make them happy because chairing our own threads, keeps them from stirring a cauldron of adversity, hostility and back and forth darts and arrows.
