NO ADVERTISING should be the policy. I think we should have a complete lack of any advertising. IHUB should be firm in their commitment to a free forum because we can all "creat traffic and interest' on the quality and value of the content and not use this forum for ads. We actually need a forum where we can spend some time when we have 'pressing stock ideas' at 1:00 a.m. and nobody to share them with save this forum. Some of us belong to commercial sites and we depend on them to do any ads in the ACCEPTED way via 'paid for' ads in the financial media. This is a way to neutralize those perennial harassers who usually could not get anything commercial going on their own which is where the BULK of the harassers originate. Why display your success as a red flag to those whose only reason to post is to 'get your goat'?
By not feeding their prurient needs to attack, they will soon fade away which is their fear. They will do anything to keep a forum like this from succeeding, because their only offer has been in bashing and from whence they come is as nebulous as quality of the posts themselves. However, careful scrutiny can easily narrow down their limited sponsorship without much trouble.
We do not want censorship, no one is changing posts, deleting stock picks, they would only delete those indignant, self-serving disruptive posts that would detract from the quality of the thread. I would keep IHUB as good as it is and better because the new era of financial forums, is for the sharing of stock information, picks, analysis, opinions - be they diverse - that doesn't matter, intraday updates on market moves and keep the advertising away. Other forums can do what they want, they are dying anyhow it doesn't matter.
We all know that is what IHUB had in mind and this has nothing to do with censorship, but rather in keeping the threads free from attacks by those who themselves have a clear AGENDA which is disruption, hostility, self-serving attacks for any number of reasons (most of which can be deduced easily). These are posters who can and do post 20 and more posts to get a rise out of the head, for only in this way can they find satisfaction. By adding advertising links, you will be fueling these 'posters' and giving them another 'platform' for their otherwise meaningless, and impotent posting.
