nlightn,

There is a certain aspect to this post which I agree with, and that is industry affiliations, certifications, and relationships could help Calypso in terms of visibility, and, yes, credibility, to a certain degree. However, the pursuit of such certifications could hurt Calypso, also. In order to obtain such certifications Calypso may have to compromise its competitive position somewhat by basically revealing the inner workings of its convergence technology solution. I do not know this to be the case, but it could be, IMO.

If Microsoft came out with a wonderful knew software application, would they show how it works to a certifying agency, in order to get its stamp of approval, but in the process give a competitor the smallest opportunity to view how it works? Maybe they would, and maybe they wouldn't...

Perhaps, the question is: Do potential customers of Calypso require certain types of certifications, or affiliations?

If they do, then at this point Calypso would not seem to qualify for their business. But, if they don't, then does it really matter?

I would like to have seen Calypso be more of a leader in this space, but perhaps there were competitive pressures which made them withdrawal somewhat, or perhaps, less than good judgment and decision making are the real reasons. I cannot explain any of their reasonings, in this regard, but I would not want their competitive position to be compromised either.

It is a huge undertaking to take a company public, and make it profitable. Can Calypso do it in the end? I believe they can. It is all about revenues and earnings, we should know by the end of the year(maybe next week! LOL!). All IMHO.
