Chile [if you include attacks by secret police]

Lots of others, some repeatedly [e.g. on Nicaragua] ... through proxies and/or secret police efforts, attacks on Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Colombia .... and back a little further, once upon a time a british columbian real estate agent and some associates took Vimy Ridge

Cush.. an historian might be the wrong person to ask-- maybe an engineer? I suspect the reason for these new long range conflicts has everything to do with transportation.
