Yes Nixon did many good things and in some ways was one of the best presidents we have had, but his character was fatally flawed and that was his downfall - along with a liberal media that were totally dedicated to the destruction of his presidency. Had the media used the same standards for willie clinton and algore, they would both have been hounded out of office with glee.
As for your first thought, there is no way on this earth that the Bush administration could ever even approach the depth of corruption and lack of morality exhibited in the clinton administration.
