Agree.. Vaguely recall my father disappointed in Ike being too much of a consensus
builder. Sense that he- Ike -didn't stand up to the DEM political forces - Though I doubt there
would have been a Cuban missile crisis if Nixon had won pres. Ironic now how dems bemoan
that GW stole the election, when Dems/Kennedy actually DID buy the election!!
In fact when Ike was pres.. weren't the times similar to when Bush senior was pres.
- dem controlled congress, Pres is NOT a professional politician but more of a
statesman, consensus builder. I do remember in Desert Storm the continuous call from Dems NOT to go to
Bagdad, enough was enough - we won in Kuwait, etc etc ..
Just astounded at the current press, when Dems now saying that Bush should have taken
Saddam out the first time - what hypocrisy !!
